Carres Grammar School

Carres Grammar School

Founded by Robert Carre in 1604, this was originally called the Free Grammar School of Sleaford. In 1834/5 the school was relocated to its current site and was subsequently extended several times, the last of which was added in 1906. The original aim of the school was to better the education of the children living in the parishes of Sleaford, Aswsarby, Holdingham, Quarrington, North and South Rauceby, Anwick, Kirkby-La-Thorpe and Evedon. Today the School has students from as far afield as Newark in Nottinghamshire.
